BYRON BAY BLUESFEST SIDESHOW TOURS: Counting Crows (Live at Enmore Theatre Sydney 29/3/2026)

Counting Crows took over Enmore Theatre for a show that balanced nostalgia, reinvention, and raw emotional weight—delivering one of those nights that felt personal from start to finish.

From the opening notes of Spaceman in Tulsa, the tone was set—this wasn’t going to be a greatest hits run-through, but a journey. Adam Duritz commanded the stage with a quiet intensity, letting songs breathe, stretch, and evolve.

Tracks like *Hard Candy* and *Mr. Jones* sparked huge crowd reactions, but it was the deeper cuts Goodnight Elisabeth, Miami, and Washington Square that really defined the night. Each song felt reinterpreted, often slower, more textured, and emotionally heavier than their studio counterparts.

The acoustic take on Angels of Silence was a standout—stripped back and haunting, it silenced the room in a way only a band with this level of songwriting depth can achieve. Meanwhile, Big Yellow Taxi and Rain King brought bursts of energy that lifted the entire theatre into a collective singalong.

The closing stretch was especially powerful. Round Here and Boxcarsbuilt a slow-burning intensity before flowing into The One / A Long December, which landed with real emotional weight. By the time Hanginaround and Holiday in Spain* wrapped things up, the Enmore felt less like a venue and more like a shared memory.

It was great that bands like the Counting Crows continue to tour despite the cancellation of Byron Bay Bluesfest which was a huge shock for alot of Australian music goers. What made the night special wasn’t just the songs—it was the way Counting Crows reshaped them in real time. This wasn’t a band reliving the past; it was a band still living inside their music.
